Taekwondo is a traditional Korean martial arts.

tae - to strike or break using the foot

kwon - to strike or break using the fist

do - "way", "method', or "art"

Taekwondo - the way of the hand and the foot; the art of kicking or punching

It combines self-defense, sport, discipline, meditation, and philosophy. What differentiates taekwondo from the other martial arts like karate, is its emphasis on the kicking techniques. It involves fast, high and spinning kicks. The rationale behind this is that Koreans are said to value their hands more that's why they use their legs in fighting. They believe that the legs are the most powerful weapon a martial artist has because it is long and can execute powerful strikes to the opponent.

Discipline is a very important factor for taekwondo practitioners. The principles of taekwondo would be applied in their way of life. This is the challenge that drives them to become the best in taekwondo. It is also a very excellent exercise because it involves endurance, speed, balance, coordination, memory, flexibility, strength and concentration. That's why TAEKWONDO is a very popular sport today.

Taekwondo has 5 tenants on which students are encouraged to live by:

1. Courtesy - should be polite to others

2. Integrity - should live according to the code of moral values and principles

3. Perseverance - never giving up; striving to accomplish your goals

4. Self-control - having control to your actions and emotions

5. Indomitable Spirit - courage in the face of adversity

I miss having taekwondo lessons, I'm currently a blue belter. Unfortunately, I stopped 2 years ago due to my hectic schedule and I can't afford the monthly payment anymore. Taekwondo helped me physically and mentally. Nowadays, I get sick a lot, like simple cough and colds. Maybe I lack exercise, I wish I can get back to Taekwondo trainings.

I love eating, but I hate cooking.

Bakit kailangan kong magpagod ng isang oras na magluto ng pagkain na wala mang limang minuto eh ubos ko na. Bakit kailangang pagurin ang sarili sa pagluluto? edi mas lalo akong magugutom. Nakakagutom kaya ang pagluluto. Mas gusto ko pang maghugas ng pingan pagkatapos kumain, kasi busog na ko nun, at may lakas na, kesa magluto ng wala pang laman ang tiyan ko.

Masarap manuod ng cooking shows, hindi para gayahin ang mga lulutuin nila, kundi para matakam sa niluto nila. yumm..yumm..

Bakit masarap kumain sa handaan? Bukod sa maraming pagkain, hindi pa ikaw ang nagpagod na nagluto. Pwede pang mag pabalot pagkatapos.

Dapat daw alam kong magluto dahil babae ako, eh bakit sa panahon natin ngaun maraming lalaking nagluluto, eh lalaki sila? Hindi ba pwedeng mag-asawa nalang ako ng chef? ehehe

I really really love Toblerone white chocolate, so i bought a small bar. Then a day after, I was craving for more, I sent group messages to my friends and a friend of mine gave me this huge Toblerone later that day. Thanks.. Yumm yumm!!

Yes I'm addicted to chocolates. It's really hard to have a sweet tooth these days because it's getting expensive.

This was my post valentine treat from that friend. Half of it is still in the fridge, and I would definitely eat all of it today. I'm greedy when it comes to chocolates, so I won't share any of it. hehehe :p

Appreciate Nurses

This message was disseminated through Facebook almost a week ago. When I read it, my heart melt, because I too, as a nurse experience these things. Take some time to ponder on this message, and always remember this whenever a nurse gives his/her care to you or your family.

In one of my PM shifts:

Patient's husband: Can you please help me change my wife's(patient) diaper?
Me: Sure Sir ..

We were so busy in the ward because we have 14 patients and only 2 nurses & 2 volunteers on duty. That patient's husband, would always call us for help almost every 30 min. He's afraid to carry and feed their newborn baby since it's their first baby. We would always go to their room to help the father and teach him how to carry, feed, and burp the baby. Then at 10pm when we had the available time, we decided to take our dinner break (the only break that we had during that shift). We would always eat at the nurse's station, because we can't just leave the ward, we need to be available to our patient's needs every minute of that shift. Then that patient's husband went to the nurse station again, and he saw us having our dinner.

Patient's husband: It's 10 in the evening, and your just about to take your dinner?
Me: Yes, sir. Do you need any help?
Patient's husband: No, just take your dinner. I'm sorry if I would always ask for your help. I'm just afraid in carrying and feeding the baby, because it's my first time to do such.

After our dinner break, we went to check our patients, give medications, check their status and IV fluids. And when we enter their room we saw the husband already carrying and feeding his baby. :)

- the very famous means of public transportation here in the Philippines. With the increase in the worldwide oil market, there has been another rise in the jeepney transportation fee. Hopefully it won't increase anymore, because if the rise continues, in the future, this simple means of public transpo. may become a stranger to us Filipinos.

I may not have a DSLR, but I believe that I can still deliver a perfect photo with any type of camera as long as I have the passion for it. Ofcourse, I'm still dreaming of owning a DSLR someday, but it won't be any moment soon since it's too expensive and I don't have the money to buy one.

New Page Rank, New Blog Layout, New Name?

After more than a year of blogging, I finally reached the pagerank of 3! Yehey! This is a great honor for me since I'm not that active at blogging anymore but I still get traffics for my site. Thanks to everyone who visited my site once in a while, and read my posts. Your visits and comments are greatly appreciated

And since my site is more than a year old, I've decided to change my template also. I get a lot of comments praising me for my template, saying stuffs like, " it's unique," "it's cute," etc... But to make everything clear, I'm actually not the maker of my templates, I just uploaded them from those sites with "free blog templates" on them. Because honestly, I'm not good in CCS codes, or the other stuffs template designers are capable of. I'm ignorant when it comes to making templates. Oh well, since there are these generous people who shares their templates, I might as well upload their cute templates rather not having a template at all. lol

After changing my template, I'm planning on changing my blog's name, Happy Dreamer is actually the meaning of my name, but I don't find it that appealing to the readers. I've added a beauty corner to my blog and hopefully would expand more, that's why I need to find a suitable name for it. Any help?

2010 Hongkong Vacation

We were already planning this vacation since last year, but there had been conflicts at first with the dates. We were hoping that the results of the Nursing Licensure Examination will come out before the set dates because this trip was supposed to be a reward if ever I pass the NLE, but the release of results has been postponed up to the last week of August. Well, we can't cancel the flight anymore because we were already booked. So here are some of the pictures of our HongKong escapade. =)

Our first stop was HongKong Disneyland. And most of the employees there are Filipinos, even the band below is a Filipino Band. =)

Then on our second day in HongKong we went to the Ocean Park. And at the end of the day, our feet were very tired due to the long day of walking.

And for the 3rd and most tiring day, we had a tour of the Victoria Peak, the HongKong Park, the Night Market, and many many more... =)

I can't take the pain anymore so I decided to walk barefooted at the HongKong Park..ehehe

Job Hunting

I'm a fresh nursing graduate, who still needs to wait long enough before the board results will come out. My boredom grew day by day as I wait for the said results. With no allowance to spend, and no money for gimmicks, I decided to join my friends with their hunt for a job.

Making a resume already consumed most of our time since neither one of us is experienced in doing so. We tried to searched the internet for samples and saved some of the ideas that we found interesting, then we sum it up and refined our resume more. After the resume, the next thing that we did was to get a 2x2 picture. Instead of going to the studio for a shot, I decided to use the supposed to be passport pictures that my mother is still keeping in her closet (to save money). All is set, the only thing missing is for what specific company will we pass our application. So we search the internet for some companies near our place that are currently hiring. Most jobs that are related to our chosen profession requires experience and most importantly a LICENSED nurse. So instead of applying for related jobs, we decided to find other available jobs that we are qualified on even without nursing experience.

We resort to applying for Call Center Agents or English Tutors. Only one of those companies send a message, and only one of us received it. So we decided to pass our application in person and tried to make a walk-in interview. And my first interview was a nerve racking experience. The thing that I hate the most is when they ask you to introduce or describe yourself in anyway you want to. Aside from that the only thing that they asked was "Name a famous person you can relate to and why."

And guess how our day ended. It ended with "Thank You, we'll just give you a call if you passed." And we went home so tired, and without any assurance.

The experience was definitely worth it.
And it served its purpose which is to prepare our batch for the Nursing Licensure Examination.
This is just a quick update...
just letting everyone know that I'm back, but definitely won't be that active
because my Laptop got broken.. grrr...

First Time Voter

It's my first time to vote for the national elections, and it's a very unforgettable experience. I woke up at around 5:30 in the morning; I thought that it was already 7am because I can hear my dogs barking outside. My mother told me that it's much better if we vote early, so that we won't be one of those individuals who would suffer under the heat of the sun, while in a long line waiting for their turn to vote. True enough, we were one of the early birds. hahaha. I was the 7th person to vote in our designated precint. Even though most of the voters have already experienced voting in the previous elections, this year's election process is different, which makes all of us first timers, even the officials and watchers.

The Philippines is used to the manual election process, where controversies are always present. From the previous elections, ballot boxes are being used to safeguard the votes. Teachers are usually responsible for the safekeeping of these boxes, which makes the work life-threatening for them. They would spend many days preparing with the Comelec officials and would wake up early on the designated day of elections, usually at around 2 in the morning to transport these boxes to the designated precints. On the day of the election, voters would fill up the form with their chosen candidates and would drop it to the ballot boxes. The votes will be counted manually with the use of a marker and manila papers (stick method), every candidate have their own poll watchers to ensure an honest counting. But through the years, this election counting method is always questioned because there are many opportunities for cheating in the process.

Well manual counting is just a part of the PAST. Welcome TECHNOLOGY to the world of the Philippine elections. As I got my ballot form and marker, I sat and opened the folder and started to fill the circles on the corresponding names of my chosen candidates. Then I experienced how hard it is to fill those tiny circles, just imagine how hard it will be for the senior voters to see that tiny circle and shade it without blotting or shading over it. First I shaded my candidates for the local positions first then the senators, the vice president and lastly, the president. There are some entries that I haven't shaded any candidate, it's either I don't know them or I know them as corrupt officials.

I was the 4th person to enter my ballot in the PCOS machine, and the first thing that appeared was "WARNING: ...........................this is an invalid vote". Oh no!!! After all the efforts and the long wait, my vote will be invalid??????!!! Then the precint assistant told me to feed the paper to the machine again. Then...................................after a long wait.................."CONGRATULATIONS" my vote was counted. YEHEY!!!

and that was my first time to vote..=)

Back to Normal Television Viewing

Tired of viewing and listening to political campaign ads while watching your favorite television show? Worry no more because yesterday was the last day for campaigning, and now the television is free from those ad campaigns which will make watching very refreshing again. But why does these politicians resort to television and even internet ads for their campaign?

Almost all of us spend atleast two hours a day in front of the television. That's why actors make a lot of fortune through their television projects. Millions of individuals watch the television which makes campaigning very easy for politicians as long as their ads are "eye catching". We've witnessed many of these ads during the previous months, most of the which were even accompanied with the politician's "jingle song".

Television ads are a good way of making a political candidate known to the people especially if that candidate is not that famous. But with the said advantages, television ads are still very expensive. Just imagine how many millions are spent for just one ad exclusive of the payment for the jingle song.

But I hope that the one we will choose to be our leader won't only be based on how popular he/she is, the number of times his/her face appeared on the television, or how much he/she spend during the campaign period. Let's choose wisely, it's our responsibility to vote for the best. One vote counts, vote for the BEST candidate on the upcoming May 10, 2010 national elections.

A Reviewee's Dream Summer Vacation

Yes I can feel the heat of the sun as manifested by the added pigmentation on my skin :c, but vacation is out of my reach as I face each day of summer with the responsibility to attend review classes and read books as a preparation for the upcoming Nursing Licensure Examination. It's been 3 years since my last summer vacation, no more long periods of sleep, long internet surfing, taekwondo classes, and things that I enjoyed when I was still on my younger years where summer vacation was still feasible.

A few weeks ago I saw a friend's post about his blogging contest. The task was to create a blog post about your dream summer vacation or your plans this summer. As I read the mechanics, I became interested since I haven't tried entering in any blogging contest yet because I'm still a newbie when it comes to blogging. As I tried to imagine of how I want my summer to be, I came back to the reality that I actually won't be having a "Summer Vacation" this year, maybe if the contest was about "Summer Reviewing" or "Summer Classes" I would be the first one to submit an entry. But who says that I can't create an entry for this contest? Maybe I can't have a summer vacation this year, but surely I can dream one. c:

If only summer vacation is a part of a nursing reviewee's life I would choose to spend it with my family. An out of town or out of the country vacation, try new foods, see different cultures, and try new things. That ends my 2010 dream summer vacation, you may say it's simple, but for a reviewee like me, it will be a great moment because I will spend it with my family and no review books in sight, just plain vacation =)

Still Have a Little Time for Blogging

After my last post I became busy with the events that happened this last few weeks of March. My schedule was full packed, which hindered me to have a rest within the holy week vacation. This is actually a late post, an overview of what happened during those days when I wasn't able to post updates on my blog. I would love to have a different posts for every events that happened like graduation, youth camp, and many more, but time won't allow me to do so since I need to concentrate on reviewing for the upcoming local board examination.

My last post was about the Pinning Ceremony that we had, and a week later, we had our 35th Commencement Exercises. Below are some shots of the said event.

Where is the camera???

After graduation, we had our preparation for the Youth Camp 2010. Our church was the host for the past three years and is still chosen to facilitate this year's camp, our theme was 1 Timothy 6:11-12 with it's main points "FLEE, FOLLOW, FIGHT"

We didn't expect that this year's youth camp would be held on the last week of March. Most of the youth, especially the officers were still having their classes 3 days before the said event. And as always, we rushed the preparation, even the games weren't ready when the camp started. We spent most of our siesta time and nights thinking and preparing for the next day's games. Zhel, Ann, and I were tasked to facilitate the Amazing Race. We were originally asked to prepare one game each, but since we didn't come up with any games (because most of the games that we've found were already used for the previous camps), we were given a much harder assignment which was the Amazing Race, not only do we need to facilitate it for 3 days, but we also need to think of obstacles or challenges that the teams muct face during the race.

We decided to follow the theme throughout the game. On the first day, we used "FLEE" as the main concept, then "FOLLOW" on the second day, and "FIGHT on the third day. Of the three, the campers had a hard time with "FOLLOW" which almost discouraged us to continue the game. The campers didn't follow the instructions that were given to them on the first obstacle, and to think that it was only the first challenge of the day. They were so excited that some of them removed the clues that they saw without any instructions of getting them. They were already on their 2nd challenge without even getting the clue that they should've gotten from the first challenge. I was really dismayed about that incident, and they knew it, because they had a taste of my sermon..hahaha..

But as they say, the show must go on, so I decided to continue the game but with corresponding penalties and deductions for the groups that didn't follow the instructions. That incident was an attest as to how hard it is to FOLLOW.... (:

My two dogs, Dutchess and Spot who turned 4 months last April 3, were also with us during the camp. There was no one to take care of them at home since my mother will help with the adults to cook in the camp, so we took them with us. But before the camp, I bought them harness so that they wouldn't have a hard time running with their neck leashes. They were like models, the kids would hold them and take pictures with them. They were behaved but played a lot, that's why when we got home, they were still energetic and looks like they are missing the kids who played with them during the camp.

After camp, instead of going home, the youth from our church went to Poracay, a resort in Pampanga, to celebrate our fellow youth's birthday. Even though we were tired, we managed to enjoy the night swimming and pose for some picture shots made by the celebrant's father. Up to this day, I wasn't able to grab the pictures because they haven't uploaded it yet. I wasn't able to bring a camera, so I'll just edit this post and put those shots when they've already uploaded it. Then after that we had a wonderful night's sleep.

Then the following Monday was the first day of the Review sessions that our school will have as a preparation for the NLE. Back to being busy again and back to reviewing for the upcoming local board examination. I'll do everything to pass that examination!!! (:

35th Pinning Ceremony and Vaya Con Dios

After 2 long years of Hospital Duty, the long wait has finally come to an end as the Siklab 2010 of the College of Nursing, Angeles University Foundation marched on their Pinning Ceremony last March 20, 2010. This would mean that we had already graduated from our Related Learning Experience (RLE) which includes our clinical experience in the hospital setting. :)

Although it was a hot, sunny day, no one was able to hinder us from taking pictures with our batchmates. Below are some pictures that were taken by my batchmates on the said event, most of which are group pictures. ( I decided not post solo or small group pictures )

As they were setting the stage and the chairs. Just imagine how many students would be filling up those seats.

But before the actual ceremony, each section had their class picture taken with their respective advisers. And above is a shot of my section while having our picture taking.

Then the march began, it almost took many hours before it started and almost forever before it ended. Who wouldn't expect that to happen? With over 600+ of students to be pinned that day, it will surely take a while to finish the march and the program.

The school was filled with students in white.

But the occasion was not just for us, after the pinning ceremony there was vaya con dios or the tribute to the parents. Whose parents won't feel happy and proud to have a child who is about to graduate? With all the hardships that our parents had just to sustain us in our studies, it is but just that we give them recognition. We were tasked to sing and give gifts to our parents during the vaya con dios ( My gift? I'll just post it in another post)

Pinning is just one of the many steps that I and my batchmates must climb to achieve our dream of becoming future nurses. To my batchmantes, Siklab, let's aim high and pass the board exams with a high passing rate. :)

The School Lunch Project of Mrs. Q

I was about to check my mail in Yahoo when I saw their featured articles and saw one that talks about Fed Up with Lunch: The School Lunch Project. The feedback from the article writer caught my attention so I decided to visit the link and it directed me to the original blog. The blog was about a project made by a teacher and a blogger who uses the name Mrs. Q. In this project, she would attempt to eat school lunch everyday this 2010. She started Day1 with spaghetti with meatsauce and today in her 43rd day she had cheeseburger, corn, peachpeach fruit cup, popcorn chips, and milk.

"It's very challenging to teach students when they are eating school lunches that don't give them the nutrition they need and deserve. Oftentimes what is served barely passes muster as something edible. And after a meal high in sugar and fat and low in fiber, they then must pay attention in a classroom" -Mrs. Q

As a teacher, she knew that school lunch is more affordable for parents and even teachers like her. Not only is it affordable but not time consuming as well. A part of Mrs. Q's everyday tasks is to make packed lunch for her children, that's why she knew how hard it is to prepare such and how easy it will be for her if her children would just avail the school lunch.

So why did she come up with such project?

In the United States The Child Nutrition Act is currently being debated in Congress. Part of the Nutrition Act is the School Lunch Protection Act. This project would look at how nutritional school lunches are. Mrs. Q would not only look at the nutritional contents of the food but would also be eating the lunch being served.

This will be a great eye opener for the government officials not only in the United States, but all over the world. These children will be the future leaders, and what they are now will be the basis of every nation's success in the future. Nutrition is essential for each individual to function properly, and children do need proper nutrition and the appropriate foods to sustain them most importantly in their studies.

So it is the responsibility of parents to ask - "What are my kids eating?" Even though they're not inside your house, be aware of what they eat outside. At the end of the day, your child will be the one to suffer from faulty food intake. So don't wait until it's too late, monitor what your children eats.

Three Months Old

My two puppies already turned 3 months last March 3,2010.

And look at the goodies they've received. It took me many weeks to complete that set.

Yesterday we visited the veterinarian in Angeles Pet Care and they had their last dose of vaccine, a 6 in 1 vaccine including rabies vaccine. After that, only a booster shot after a couple of months is required, which means that I will have more time to save money. Because of that good news, I decided to buy them clothes from the money left for their supposedly every other week vaccination.

I picked Dutchess' shirt which was pink with flowers and glitters, while my youngest brother, who is a fan of Ben Ten, picked the blue and white stripes Ben Ten shirt for Spot.

At first they were irritated with the clothes, but after a few hours they got used to it.

And for the last photo, I would like to share this cute shot of my youngest brother trying to imitate Dutchess' tongue style. =p

Childhood memories won't be complete with my favorite cartoon shows. Watching Bananas and Pajamas would always be a part of my Saturday morning habit way back then. "Naiisip mo ba ang naiisip ko B2?" was the famous line of the show. B1 and B2, the twin Bananas, with their friends Amy, Morgan, and Lulu or simply "ang tatlong oso" and Doding Daga, are the casts of this show. The twins, with the three bears would solve mysteries that are most of the times caused by Doding Daga. At the end of the show a good moral lesson would be imparted to the viewers for that episode. Each episode would include the cause of the problem, the effect, and the solution. I really miss being young, but luckily I'm still young at heart =)

Chile Earthquake-Tsunami Alert

February 27, 2010 -The Chile earthquake hit their country yesterday at a magnitude of 8.8. The people never expected it to happen, it was so sudden. According to the news, the earthquake was so strong that it even shake the strong buildings in Chile's capital. Right after the earthquake, a tsunami alert was given to countries
with villages near the Pacific Ocean. It is said that it would likely hit the Asian, Australian, and New Zealand shores within 24 hours of the earthquake. Here in the Philippines, a day after the Chile earthquake, the tsunami alert has increased to level 2, and is expected to increase at around 4pm. The evacuation has already started in villages which are near the coast, and hundreds had left their home along the shore in fear that the tsunami would hit their villages today.

Let's pray for Chile, and let's pray that the tsunami wouldn't hit other countries' shore anymore.

Only a few months from now and the 2010 election will take place. Have you decided whom to vote?

After a few weeks of becoming busy with my school works, and being very tired due to graveyard duty, I decided to catch up with the news regarding the candidates for the different government positions this upcoming election. I read some forums regarding the candidates, especially the presidential candidates. I have chosen to vote Gilberto "Gibo" Teodoro for president, that's why most of my searches were about his campaign. As i read the posts from different sites, I saw this cute pictures which is connected to him and his campaign color - "green".

Even this wedding has a touch of Gibo...

Graveyard (11pm-7am shift)

It was my first time to have a taste of the graveyard duty. We were expecting to have a peaceful night, since most of the patients are already asleep. And we were relieved to find out that there were also other schools who will be having their graveyard duty there. So for the first time in our Electives, we were given a maximum of 2 patients. Yehey!!!

I was given only one patient, so when I finished taking my patient's vital signs, I readily started on my SOAPIE. I was amazed to be able to finish the SOAPIE in less than an hour, because during other shifts it would take me atleast 2 hours to finish one. Then I was informed that my patient would undergo Blood Transfusion at around 1:00 am. So much for all the expectation! I ended up checking his vital signs every 15 minutes, and
his BT and IVF if they are still infusing, because before the BT was hooked his main line stopped. After a few hours, the patient in the next bed was to undergo blood extraction for ABG, then when I rechecked my patient's BT and IVF, they stopped again. It was just about a minute ago when I checked them, and when there was a nurse in sight, it stopped again..huhu.The nurse saw the contraptions, and asked me to regulate them since I was able to make the line patent again. That nurse was the same nurse who saw the main line before the BT was hooked. He was the one who asked me to regulate the IVF well (which I regulated even before he came, and for unknown reasons stopped when he was on sight). I was really annoyed that time, because everytime he comes close to my patient, my patient's contraptions would stop, and I don't know if he thinks that I didn't regulate them well (which I regulate atleast every minute). So that was my first graveyard experience. Wasn't it memorable??

Starstruck 5 Ultimate Survivors

Last night, in the Final Judgment night at the Araneta Coliseum, the top 5 survivors of Starstruck showed all they've got to deserve to be the next Ultimate Survivor. At the end, Sarah Lahbati and Steven Silva were hailed as StarStruck 5’s Ultimate Male and Female Survivors. Both of them won exclusive contracts with GMA and 1.5 million.

As they were performing a special number with the previous ultimate survivors, I remembered Marky Cielo, who died just a last 2008. He was the ultimate survivor in Starstruck batch 3. He rose to fame due to his humble attitude. He was described as a loving son, friend and relative. He was proud to be a katutubo (native), which can be seen all throughout his showbiz life. Unlike the popular notion that only beautiful faces do win in such competitions, he was a confirmation that good values still do matter.

As I was trying to reduce my used space in my gmail account, I was able to find some interesting attachments that I've made way back when I was still in my 2nd year in college. The picture above was the cover of the first film that I've edited. The class was divided into two groups and each were tasked to make a movie with a given theme, a requirement in our subject - Literature.

Having differences is never a hindrance in finding true friendship. This group of friends from Baguio can attest to that. They were together since elementary until high school. Before graduation, they decided to go out of town (Subic).

A memorable-to-be event turned out as a nightmare. All hell broke out loose. They thought that it's the end of everything. But believe it or not, tragic happenings can sometimes give way to reconciliation.

Never did I imagined that I would be able to finish the film. My brother was the computer genius, while I was a computer illiterate (ahaha). Since there was no other options, I tried to edit the video even without knowledge on how too. I was lucky enough that I have a movie editor installed in our computer at that time. It took me many sleepless nights before finishing the video, but it was all worth it. The most time consuming part was the pasting of the movie in the timeline many times and shrinking it to the exact scene needed, only to find out later on that there was actually a tool to readily cut the video in between scenes. Grrrr!!

Wrong Timing

After a 3-11pm duty at the hospital, I arrived home hoping to have a more fruitful midnight. I was motivated to finish our assignment in NCM which was due the day after even though many of my classmates have decided to pass it next week. Before doing so, I decided to look at my puppies first, and play with them for a few minutes. I checked on Duchess, which was rushed to the veterinarian that day due to vomiting and diarrhea. Poor Duchess, when I left early that morning she won't eat even if you offer her food. I wasn't aware that she was rushed to the vet that afternoon, I was just informed later that evening when my mom picked me up at school. I tried to distract myself that day by getting busy with my patients and chatting with my classmates, because I was so worried about Duchess not having appetite for food, and with the presence of lump on her abdomen.

I was thankful that the lump on her abdomen is not harmful, according to my mom, the vet said that it would disappear after a few months, and regarding her vomiting and diarrhea, she was given an antibiotic and an ORS for puppies. According to the vet the vomiting and diarrhea may be due to the vaccination that they've received last Saturday. Then I remembered Spot, he was also vaccinated and eat the same food as Duthess, but he didn't get sick. It was hard budgeting on my allowance, I was saving for their vaccinations and deworming, and that evening I found out that the medicines that was given to Duchess and the professional fee would cost me more than what I've saved this week. While I was telling this to my mom, she didn't hesitate and told me that she would shoulder that day's expenses for Duchess check-up. I was relieved, because I wouldn't need to sacrifice my dinner breaks anymore.

After placing Spot and Duchess in their sleeping place, I went to my room to open the laptop and start on researching. After a few minutes, the lights went off, I was really upset because the power went down. The electricity was cut until 6am, to unknown reasons. I tried to wait and decided to play Plants vs. Zombies, to try if I would get addicted to it, because most of my classmates are. And after 2 hours of waiting, the battery of my laptop got drained, and no signs of light or electricity anywhere. At the end, I decided to sleep, and as usual I woke up late, that's why I prefer doing my assignments first before sleeping. So here I am, cramming on my assignment, trying to find an article for a span of 1 hour. Hope I would find one.

Cute Google Search Engine Designs

I spend almost 4 hours a day, at the least, in front of the computer. Due to the advancement of today's generation, a simple student like me must catch up with the ever growing demands of the every day student life. Google has been a great search engine for me, most importantly when doing researches. Lately I've noticed the new design of Google search engine, and it changes almost everyday, and is up to date with the different holidays. One of which was the design of the Philippine flag which was displayed on the Philippines independence day.

As I surf the internet and tried to search the different designs that were previously displayed, I found out that most of the designs were made by children from different parts of the world. They are the winners of the contest "Google Doodle".

One of which is a design inspired by the naturalist and broadcaster David Attenborough. The participants of the said contest were schoolchildren aged between 5 and 16 from around the UK. They were tasked to design a logo for the site’s homepage, on the theme of ‘My Hero’. The winning entry, which is the picture on the left side, was made by a 15-year-old student from Saint Martin’s School in Solihull. Sophie Redwood entitled her masterpiece the ‘Planet Earth’.

This was only one of those winning entries made by individuals from different countries. This was surely a good way to entice people to use the Google search engine, because I myself was hooked to it. It looks more friendly and more personalized. It is also one way of giving satisfaction to the Google loyalists. I wish I had the same talent in art as those who've joined the contest. It's an excellent way of promoting their search engine. Good job Google! =)

What is Love?

"What is Love?" - this was the question that was asked to me and my fellow youth in church this Sunday. It's February 14, and the usual Heart's Day is being celebrated by most of the people. Due to the occasion, most of the preachings and encouragement that I've heard has to do with love. Previously, we had a youth conference where love was also the main topic. Through that conference we found out that Love is fulfilling the law. In our generation today, we readily associate love with boyfriend/girlfriends rather than Jesus. But let us dig deeper into the meaning of love and find the greatest love that has been shown to each and every one of us. There is this saying, "You can give without loving, but you cannot love without giving." God gave His only Begotten Son to die for our sins so that we may be saved, and this is considered the greatest love of all. Jesus fulfilled what God sent him to do, He fulfilled the law because He love us.

So how can we show love? How will we be able to fulfill the law? The Bible tells us that we should love the Lord our God with all our strength, with all our soul and with all our might, but it doesn't end there, we are also commanded by the Lord that we should love our neighbors as ourselves. Through this Bible quotations, I was able to understand clearly what Love as fulfilling the law is. Love is not just about feelings or emotions, but rather it is a command, a covenant wherein both individuals must share their part regardless of what the circumstance is. If your love is bounded by marriage or commitment, never let any trials bring you down.

Love is always defined in positive ways, that's why when a relationship is faced with hardships, our human nature would easily say " I fell out of love," that's why many couples nowadays end up into separation. But marriage is not purely positive, it is a covenant between the couple and God. Love is not merely dependent on feelings or emotions, but rather it is a command, as the Bible says, "Husband love thy wife," and "Wives submit yourselves to your husband." So whether you feel it or not, you must stay in love with your better half.

So what if I'm not yet married? It is good to ponder on such topics so that when I'm on that stage of my life, i would be matured enough to face such circumstance and won't confuse love with emotions or feelings.

Spot and Dutchess, new members of the family

Dutchess is very sweet, her stare can be a stress reliever. Even though she would do bad things like licking the sand, still she can manage to make you smile and forget what she did. She is fond of sleeping in small spaces, she would even go under the computer table to sleep there. Even if you offer her a comfy basket still she prefers sleeping in the floor. =)

A hyperactive pet, who won't let her sister go to sleep unless he himself is sleepy. He is fond of scratching and biting things, especially my mom's table. ahaha.. That's why he was punished, but still he would do the same thing. He knows how to make you feel sorry for him so you won't continue with the punishment, he would make those puppy stares and cry like a cute baby.

I can't wait for their furs (is it fur or hair? haha) to be fluffy. On their first visit to the veterinarean, a stool exam was made, and they found out that they have many roundworms, poor Spot and Dutchess. They were given a medicine for deworming and guess what, there were big worms present when they defecated. Maybe that's the reason why they wake up during midnight. But when the worms were expelled, sleeping has become a hobby for them, especially dutchess,haha.

So it's really important to have your pets checked up immediately after being bought. Then you can ask the vet on how to take care of them, when to bathe them and most importantly when can they be vaccinated (for the safety of both you and your pets.)

Sydney White

To fit in- that was the hard part of college of Sydney White. Following the legacy of her mother as part of the Kappa Sisterhood was definitely not what she was born to do. With the struggles that she face everyday inside the Kappa dormitory, she realized that she does not belong there, and that the essence of sisterhood that her mother experienced there was now a part of the past. The Kappa Sisterhood is now based on fashion, beauty, power, money and nothing about real sisterhood.

But with the confidence and real personality that Sydney displays, she caught the attention of Tyler, the president of the most popular university brotherhood. She also makes her way to the list of the most popular girls in the university. As her popularity rises, Rachel, the president of the Kappa sisterhood, begins to feel threatened by her. Instead of giving her a part in the sisterhood, Rachel disqualified Sydney.

Then the counterpart of Snowhite and the seven dwarfs was formed. Sydney was welcomed by the seven geeks/dorks in the Vortex House, and the Sydney and the Seven Dorks was created. Sydney was able to realize what her mother really meant, it's not being a part of the Kappa sisterhood, but being able to stand and fight for what you believe in, and be able to form real friendships.

Sydney, with the help of the seven dorks was able to enlighten the minds of the students in their university. The university is not only for the influential members of the society, or the elite, but for the masses. Different people with different personalities and talents can work together and build a more stronger force. Even though Sydney started with only the seven dorks and his father supporting her, she was able to touch the lives of the other students by directly being involved in their activities, and showing them that they are all important. Sydney was able to win the university council election and change the cliche about the status quo, because everybody are created to fit in whatever personality they may have.

Alvin and the Chipmunks the Squeaquel 2009

The Chipmunks are back, with a new twist as they're about to enter the world of "high school". Dave Seville, their ever patient guardian needs to stay in the hospital for a while (due to an accident brought by Alvin's acts). They were to attend regular schooling while waiting for Dave to recover.Dave made an arrangement with his aunt to take care of the chipmunks while he's still under recovery, but the boys ended up in the care of Dave's nephew, Toby. Toby was addicted to video games, and he had a little sense of responsibility.

As they make their way to high school, their emotions and brotherhood was put into test. Alvin was made part of the football team, which made Simon and Theodore alone most of the times. Little did he know that Theodore was actually beginning to be emotional regarding the situation. Every time Theodore would feel sad or frightened, he would go to Dave and seek comfort from him, but with Dave out of sight, he tried to go to Toby. And instead of putting ease to Theodore's sadness, Toby was busy doing his own thing.

The Chimpunks were asked to perform as the representatives from their school in a music competition of different high schools. The price was expected to help sustain the music department which was already near to its end. As the boys were practicing, the Chipettes composed of Brittany, Jeanette and Eleanor came. The Chipettes were actually Ian Hawk's (the nemesis of the Chipmunks) new talents.

Will Ian succeed in trying to destroy the Chipmunks career and make his way to the top again?

Would the misunderstanding between the Chipmunk brothers continue?

How can Alvin make up for what he's done?

Who will win in the Chipmunks and Chipettes face-off?

But just like real people, Sherlock won't be able to solve a mystery without the help of a trusted companion. Most of us grew up using them, from powder to lotion and even bathing products, name it and they have them (the most hypoallergenic products. : ).

Last week, as I browse through different blog posts, I saw a post regarding a package from Johnson & Johnson. The author received an LBC package from J&J, and inside it are a set of mini lotions, a tester kit of the new J&J set of lotions. According to the post, she was sent this free sample just by registering at the J&J webpage. With the curiosity in my mind, I decided to click the link to the J&J webpage, and ended up registering too.

After 5 days:

We were on our way home from our hospital duty. I was tired and my feet are already aching due to prolonged standing. When I got home, my mother and brother were already sleeping, so I proceeded directly to my room. Inside my room, a package was on top of my bed. I smiled when I found out what's inside it. Johnson & Johnson send me the mini set of the lotions too, and it was sent through LBC.

The mini lotions were cute and when I tried it, they were really soft and the scent was not strong at all. Thanks Johnson & Johnson! I would definitely use your new product. Thumbs up!

The Incredible Journey

------Animals have been a good company for humans throughout the centuries. Most were trained to be useful for their livelihood, while others were welcomed as an adopted member of the family. Whatever reason it may be, animals were known to be obedient only to their masters, and in times of trouble they would do whatever it takes to keep their master with them. They've become man's companion and vice versa.------------------

This book by Sheila Burnford, is about three animals who endured all the obstacles in the way just to be home with their masters again. Even though they may be different from each other (a cat, labrador, and a bull terrier), they journeyed with the same goal, and that is to meet their master at the end of the road.

They were loved by the Hunters and were treated as part of the family. That's why when the Hunters were to go to a far country for Mr. Hunter's work, the children weren't happy when they found out that their pets can't go with them. Mr. Longridge, being able to witness the heartache that the parting of ways has given the children, he then offered to take care of the animals while their gone.

Mr. Longridge, through the short span of time that he was able to spent with the animals, had a deeper affection for them. He realized that he would be lonely again when the Hunter's will come back, but he knew as well that the animals longing for their masters will at long last be put to an end. Few days before the return of the Hunter's, Mr. Longridge went to another place with his brother, leaving the animals behind. Little did he know that at his departure, the incredible journey of the siamese cat, bull terrier and labrador will begin.

Hate Late?

Have you ever come across this large banner of Pizza Hut?

This always pops out of my mind whenever I get stuck in traffic, or every time I ended waking up 30 minutes before the duty or lecture time. This has been a stressor for me for the passed four years of my life (college life). During my primary and secondary schooling, I always had a service who would pick me up 1 hour before the class hours. I'll be at school even before the teachers get there and sometimes the gates are still closed. How did I manage to be that early? Thanks to my mother who would wake me up at 5:00 every morning to prepare for school. I would always be the first to take a bath, because it always took me for about an hour to do so. And at around 6:30 I and my two brothers would be picked up by our service to school. This has been a routine for me for 12 years of my life.

During the first 2 years of college, all went out well regarding my sleeping and waking up cycle. I intended to leave home at least 45 minutes before the time, so that I won’t be stressed thinking if what would my teacher’s reaction be when I came in late, because to tell you frankly, I hate catching the attention of many people. I’d rather sit in one side and listen to the teacher, rather than having recitations.

And the third year came, and my sleeping-waking pattern was ruined. Night shift, morning shift, make up classes, overnight meetings for thesis, review, drug studies, NCPs, Case Studies, and many other requirements lead my body to confusion..ahaha.. In one instance, instead of waking up before 6am, I woke up at 7am, that was really a one in a lifetime experience. I was supposed to be in Guagua for a morning shift duty at 6:00am, nevertheless, I decided to go. While on the way, I was composing the sentences that I would tell my teacher, hoping that he would be considerate on not marking me absent, because an absent would be equivalent to 4 unexcused make up duties (which I never experienced in my entire nursing student life). But luckily, he didn’t noticed that I was not there, and I was never marked as absent or late. But the stress that I experienced that day was one of a kind, and while on my way home I saw this banner of pizza hut with the question “HATE LATE?”

YES!YES!I hate being late.

and now I'm still struggling to come on time, especially when having our pm shift until 8:30pm and be home at 10:30pm, then we're expected to come the next day to school at 7:00am. Nursing life is so unfair. :c

I'm not afraid..

Student's Hour with Gibo and Edu.. Angeles University Foundation

" ang utang na loob ay sinusuklian ng kabutihan at kapag ito'y sumobra at nahantong sa kasamaan, ito ay pagaalipin na" - not exactly the same words that came out of Gibo Teodero's mouth, but with the same message.

In "Student's Hour With Gibo and Edu" in Angeles University Foundation, a student asked him what he can say to those people who are saying that he is merely an follower to be used by administration, especially PGMA, in their plans. I was really amazed by his answer wherein he admitted that he has an utang na loob, but this must be returned with good doings also and not forcefully. And if it is doing something for the benefit of the person regardless if it is against the law, it is not already termed as utang na loob but as slavery. What's the use of all his efforts, his accomplishments, and competency if he would just be a slave to fulfill other people's black agenda, he'll be a fool if he'll do that. His answer was applauded by almost all the students in the covered court.

January 5, 2010 - regular duty. We arrived at the hospital at 6:00am, and 2 pm is our supposedly time of departure from the hospital. But before the duty ends, we were informed that we need to attend a meeting at the covered court at 3pm and attendance is a must. We decided not to go because we need to finish an undone project. Before leaving the hospital we found out that the meeting was Gibo and Edu's campus tour, even though i like to attend at the covered court, our project is already delayed in the submission and must be our top priority. We decided to take a sit at the covered court while waiting for our classmates, but to our surprise they decided to cancel the meeting because Gibo is coming. I was happy I was able to witness the visit, but also annoyed that they've canceled a very important meeting for the project which has already been rescheduled for many times.

So enough of the before scenes, ehehehe..

Instead of giving a speech, Gibo decided to make use of the time for an open forum. Overall I would personally agree that he is really Magaling at Matalino. He would answer every question without hesitancy and with full confidence. His answers are bound on reality and you would feel the sincerity in it. You won't even hear him brag about his works, his answers were focused on his vision and plan for the country, and not on what he already did.

So it would be up to us if he would win or not..

Goodbye 2009! Welcome year 2010!
Here are some things included in my new year's resolution list:

1. Eat a lot - to gain weight
----this has been my new year's resolution ever since..ehe
Even just a little additional lbs. will do.

2. Study hard- review for the board exams
---don't let sleep ruin my study habits
---become interested in learning new things

3. Manage time properly
---requirements will be piled up this last semester
4. Start having taekwondo trainings again
---to strengthen my immune system

5. Be more friendly
6. Be more girly---haha
7. Never fall inlove again with someone who doesn't love you.. :c

8. Choose friends wisely....=)

Rizal Day (December 30)..reminds me of something

These phrases are some of the many contributions of Jose Rizal which made a great impact in the Philippine history. Jose Rizal, is a filipino hero known for his bravery in defending his country, the Philippines, through his writings. Several years after his execution, here we are commemorating his role in achieving our nation's democracy. Rizal Day, a holiday celebrated in the Philippines every December 30, in honor of Rizal's death.

As the national hero of the Philippines, the life of Jose Rizal is known to almost every Filipinos. It is even a part of the school's curriculum which includes reading some of his writings like Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo. So as a student, I too had a in depth knowledge about Rizal and his works.I enjoyed reading Noli and El Fili, if only given the chance, I think Rizal would have made a better continuation of Crisostomo Ibarra's story.

Once on our Rizal subject in college, we were tasked to portray each chapter of Noli Me Tangere per group. That was during our summer school (trimester), and because we were reshuffled, I hardly know anyone in our section. I hate it when my time is being wasted in meetings or practices that ends up with nothing. Our leader that time was not even responsible enough to divide the work, what she wants is an impromptu play..IMPROMPTU = ANGRY TEACHER. So I decided to be the scriptwriter (trying to save the day), I was able to make a play that is somewhat like a declamation piece, but would include all of the members of the group.

I send their parts via text message (since I was only given that afternoon to make a script), I tried to keep it as short as possible since we were already gonna present that the next day. I chose to be the narrator so that I would signal where to start, whose part is next, and many more since I was the one who made the script. So the play went well, we were even praised by our teacher. At the end, our teacher gave us individual scores, she gave the actors high grades while I was the one who got the lowest of them all. I was so mad because my groupmates didn't even confronted my teacher or made a reaction that i was actually the one who made all the efforts for us to perform something that day, and they didn't even said sorry to me. And now everytime that they see me, they would try not to look at me in the eye, and would pretend that they didn't saw me.

And Rizal Day always reminds me of this incident...

KFC(Kikiam, Fishball, Chicken bits)

Pagkatapos ang ilang dekadang hindi namin pagkikita (sa totoo lang 1 lingo lang), nagdesisyon and grupo (ako, zhel, ann) na maglakwatsa.

SHOPPING?? FOOD TRIP??

kaya lang walang pera eh

Dec. 24- maraming namimili ng ipangreregalo sa kanilang mga kaibigan, sa kapamilya, at siyempre sa sarili. Ang daming taong nakikipagsiksikan sa mga bangketa and mga tiange upang makamura, at isa na kami dun.
Pero sa paghihintay palang sa akin ay nainip na ang dalawa, sobrang traffic kasi, sa lahat ata ng sulok ng papunta sa mall ay may tao. Pagkarating ko sa pinag-usapan hindi na mahulugang karayom ang mall sa dami ng tao, kaya't nagmadali akong itext sila upang malaman ang eksaktong lugar na kinaroroonan nila.

Sa wakas may nakita na akong 2 babae na nakapalda, nilapitan ko sila sabay sabing "sorry, matraffic kasi, dami kasing tao sa labas." At ang sagot nila sa akin ay ang laging asaran kapag may nahuhuli -"ayos lang yun, ililibre mo naman kami eh kahit sa totobits lang, o kaya kung gusto mo para sosyal sa KFC nalang".

Totobits- paboritong tambayan ng mga kabataan na gutom, lalo na mga estudyante. Ang specialty nila dito fishball, kikiam, at kung ano ano pang street foods. Naalala ko tuloy ang sabi sa akin ng isang kakilala, sigurado daw na mabubusog ka dito kahit sa halagang sampung piso lamang. Paano kaya sampung piso nga ang binabayad nila pero lampas naman dun ang kinakain nila. Kaya kung nagtitipid ka, dito kana pumunta.

KFC (Kikiam, Fishball, Chicken Bits) - street foods na pinasosyal ang pangalan, ito'y masarap at mura pa. Hindi ko alam kung saan nakuha ni zhel to, pero siya ang unang nagsabi sa akin nito. Sino ngayon ang magsasabi na mayayaman lang ang nakakapag KFC =)

Pero nung araw na iyon hindi kami natuloy sa totobits (madami kasing tao dun nung araw na iyon), kaya't nagKFC(Kentucky Frid Chicken) nalang kami ayun gumastos kami ng mahigit sa 300php para sa pagkain naming tatlo, bitin pa.

Next time totobits nalang nga..ehehehe =)

Plan: TO REVIEW

After a day of EATING, i decided to clean my room and decided to do what I really planned for this holiday vacation which is ----TO REVIEW---- It's really easy planning for what to do tomorrow or in the future, but when that day comes, it's hard to put it into work.

Only 1 more week before vacation is over, and I haven't read even just 1 chapter of the pile of Nursing books in my room..huhu.. So what's the best way to review and still enjoy the holiday vacation???

I'm into blogging now, as you can see, I just started last week and I really enjoyed it, especially when I see how many people would look into my blogs. The hardest thing is to promote your site, because you will really spend lots of time and effort in doing so.

So i've decided, why not incorporate reviewing into blogging??hmmm.... I'll try it this night..
I decided to make a blog page "The Nurse Is In", wherein i'll put the topics that I've studying, hoping that it would help me and others as well.

Alay Lakad Para sa Strawberry Shake

I was a month delayed on my appointment to the dentist!!!

I was sick for the past 3 weeks and decided not to go because it would be a shame to be coughing with my mouth open..ehehe..c= so i decided to go there this holiday vacation. I took 2 days of chillin' first before having my mind and body set to go to the dental clinic.

It was 8:30am when I woke up. I was supposed to jog in the park with my brother at 5:00am, but both of us enjoyed sleeping (my hobby) so we overslept instead..aha..
Then I heard the voice of my mother telling me to go to the dentist today.

I brought my younger brother with me, so that I won't be alone talking to myself (through my thoughts) while waiting for my turn in the dental chair. My brother was excited and was already dressed when I got up from my bed to take a bath. It took me over an hour to prepare(too long? not really, I was not in a rush because from previous visits to my dentist, they only arrive at around 10am). When we got there, the assistant informed us that the dentist would arrive at 1pm because they went to the municipal hall to register as voters for the upcoming election, and she suggested that we just come back after lunch.

We went to Angeles and decided to buy a cellphone (because my phone was already malfunctioning) , I picked a myphone q22duo, hoping that it won't easily get broken. Then my brother told me that he was already hungry, so I let him pick where to eat, because he's the only one who will buy food. I didn't bring my toothbrush with me because I thought that I would have my brace adjustment done before lunchtime. It cost me 167php for the fare and my brother's lunch and 3,460php for my myphone and when I checked my pocket the only money left are for my dental payment. =c

When we went back to the dentist, there was already a patient who was first called to enter. My brother waited for about an hour sitting quietly in the chair. After my adjustment and temporary filling, my brother pointed at the Dr. Pearl near the dental clinic , and it made me craved for strawberry shake.

Due to my craving I asked my brother if we can walk rather than riding a tricycle on our way home, he quickly nodded. We were able to satisfy our craving with Dr. Pearl's watermelon and strawberry shake....YUMMY!!!!!!

We walked for over 20 minutes on our way home..ehe..alay lakad kung tawagin..

Food Guide Pyramid, The "L" Way (Death Note)

The food guide pyramid is a tool used to easily illustrate the recommended intake from the food groups. The recommended intake is expected to supply energy to the human body and be able to achieve/maintain good nutrition. But for a genius, childish, and unselfish person like "L" ,sweets are enough to maintain the "above normal" processes of his body, mainly his brain. So now let's explore the Food Guide Pyramid-the L Way.

For L, a trusty stainless barbeque stick is an essential tool in preparing food. This will allow you to experiment which kind of sweets would compliment each other. With it's non-sticky property, marshmallows wouldn't be a problem, and you would also be given the chance to personalize your food, because as we all know presentation and design affects ones appetite.

For the main meals of the day, marshmallows, donuts, cakes, and pies are suggested,and for the snacks, a huge bar of chocolate or a bowl of strawberries would suffice the intense work that the mind would be encountering during the day. The suggested frequency is Small Frequent Feedings (every minute) while the Oral Fluid Intake (chocolate drinks only) is as tolerated.

And when strolling around the market while being followed by men with guns, try to stop at some restaurants who specializes with sweets, and order icecream, lollipop, and a cup of chocolate drink. And for it to be fun, bring friends with you: a mathematical genius boy (the only survivor in a town infected with a deadly virus in Thailand), and a daughter of a doctor (who injected herself with a virus that his father entrusted her).

And always remember, an apple a day would keep a Shinigami even closer. =)

or whatever you call them, each of them represents a time in the past that you find worth capturing for. I'm not a photogenic person so I can say that I only put myself in front of a camera once in a while and mostly during special events only.

This past week our group in class decided to make our reporting and presentation lively. Since the latest update in one of the tv channels is a mini Christmas commercial featuring its greatest artists (wherein each of them are holding a mini lantern star and singing the lyrics -"salamat sa liwanag mo," which means thank you for your light ),the group decided to make their own version of the commercial. Each were given a star (made from yellow construction paper, and straw as the handle) with a name of an artist written on it (and believe me, they really worked hard in assessing which artist will fit the physical characteristics of each member in the group).

On the middle of the presentation, I asked my seatmate if she brought her cellphone so that we can take pictures while holding the star. And guess what, both of us have a cellphone, but neither brought the ones with camera. ='c So the day ended with no picture as a sign of remembrance for the said activity, but I was able to preserve my star and brought it home with me. I put the star in a place where I know it won't be torn apart or wrinkled (in the middle pages of my jurisprudence book..ehe)

It was a Sunday morning, and I woke up early and was able to fix myself and put some blush on before going to church. That was the only day that I can remember that I didn't put effort in putting on a headband and ending up looking nice (very rare that I put on a headband, because even with much effort, it won't end up with my desired result). After church we went home, and upon reaching my room, I saw the star still pressed by the pages of my book, so I decided to take a picture with it. And because the name printed in it was not my name, but the name of an artist that I represented in the presentation, I decided to edit it through Adobe Photoshop and put some designs on it, with a phrase below stating the lyrics "salamat sa liwanag mo...". It was already midnight, so I decided to save it first and just upload in tomorrow in facebook.

Days passed, and since it was the last week before Christmas vacation, with a bulk of requirements needed to be done, I decided to focus first on my studies and put aside my laptop. And at last, when the exams are over, I was able to turn my laptop on and to my surprise one of my friends uploaded a picture with the same concept as that of mine. I didn't commented on her photo, because no one has any right to a specific pose or concept. So I went on with my plan of uploading it to my facebook account and I've chosen it to be my profile picture.

With only seconds after it was posted on my page, I received a comment saying,"gaya-gaya," from that friend, which she meant as me imitating her concept in the picture that I've uploaded. I replied and told her the whole story, but she only thought that I was defensive. So I decided to just delete the photo, because even though a photo may be worth a thousand words, I would rather not have it than be called a "gaya-gaya". And now I'm currently uploading new PICTURES OF ME.

Facebook Mania

FB has been a craze this past few months, not only for the young people but even for the adults and children. With tons of applications to choose from, who wouldn't spent hours in front of their computer harvesting their crops in farmville and farmtown, cooking in restaurant city and cafe world, and answering tons and tons of quizzes...and let us not forget "bertong badtrip". Who would have thought that this would be a hit here in the Philippines and around the world.

As students, reviewing is crucial to pass an exam, especially if it is a major examination to be taken tomorrow. With only a few hours left to study, most of us would utilize every single minute in front of a handout or a book, trying to retain every single word that we read because there is no time to repeat it anymore. That should be the usual case, but this prelims most of my classmates, even I, started and ended our day with facebook. With only little time used for reviewing our topics for the exam, we voiced our concerns in our fb wall and continued in playing fb games. =)

My classmates would even worry about their crops while we are having our duty. Oh how I wished that we are also like that in reality, worrying about our fruit of labor and harvesting it early so that it won't get into waste.

My brother would maximize his time using my laptop while I'm at school. He would check if his foods in cafe world are already rotten, if his friends are online, and many more. And when I'm already home, he would even ask me to extend his time in the computer even just for an hour.

See how facebook has become a part of our daily lives?

a miniblog..

The year 2009 was not that good for me, not that it was the worst of all the years that passed, but it made me emotional in some ways. And now looking back at the things that happened this year, I can say that i'm still immature in many ways. Maybe age is somehow a contributing factor, because I'm now in the middle of being a teen and becoming an adult(still hoping that I can bring back the time).

Adulthood??? why can't I move on and accept this new stage in my life?
Only 3 more months and I'm gonna graduate already (hopefully), and this scares me. I would then be freed from my comfort zone and face a world which i consider as a battleground, wherein I am alone at the forefront to defend myself.

Adolescence??? Still trying hard to cope up with the trends and accomplishments that I must have achieved during this period in my life, but I'm already near the deadline.

So how will this year end for me??
but most importantly...
...how will I start my 2010 right?? hmmm... i wonder..
